I'm still not sure I can get used to a world where the Rays are good. It seems weird that they aren't the doormats of the league anymore.

I hope you're wrong, because my car reeeeeeally needs washing.Magneto2.0 wrote:80 they'll probably reach, but I don't see 89. If you guys don't mind driving your cars from St.Louis to Brooklyn, NY every week, then we're still on.

"Steady" is right - it took them 11 years of total futility to reach this point (this is a team that's never won more than 70 games in a season, and has only finished out of last place once in 11 seasons).jim wrote:greenback mentioned this in the brawl thread, I thought I would lift it and start another thread. It's pretty big news, a team just mired in low attendance and fan apathy following a steady plan, making good draft picks and building one of the best young teams I can remember in a long, long time.greenback44 wrote:Going in a different direction here, PECOTA has been updated, and has the Rays winning 89 games in 2008.
I doubt whether our fans would wait that long; we can't even wait 11 days.

They don't have any fans(yet) so they didn't have to worry about the waiting.Jmodene wrote:"Steady" is right - it took them 11 years of total futility to reach this point (this is a team that's never won more than 70 games in a season, and has only finished out of last place once in 11 seasons).jim wrote:greenback mentioned this in the brawl thread, I thought I would lift it and start another thread.
