The Brandon Phillips stuff is kind of fun, really. Booing a smart ass like him is just part of going to the park. But Cueto...

I think there are some STL fans that would kill him if given the chance. His actions crossed a line, turning a good scrum of a rivalry into something a bit darker. I haven't checked, but I'd be shocked if Baker runs him out there this weekend.

I don't think it's "fun" at all; the (other) last thing MLB needs is NBA-style trash talk.

He joked that St Louis food was lame*. He joked about the hotel being bad. He joked about the fans being fixated on him. I don't care one way or the other but hardly is this nasty trash talking.

The last thing MLB needs is for it's players to be entertaining.

Bring on the robots.

Your idea of entertaining and mine are obvously different. My entertainment is the ballgame itself, that's all.

Man, don't make me defend Modene on this. I want baseball players to be entertaining by being good at baseball mostly. Colorful is fine but self aggrandizement is not my idea of entertaining. Ochocinco? Not entertaining. But then again this is America where Donald Trump reigns supreme.

I think the games are still played.

I have a feeling that Carp does this, but during games and from the dugout.
Oh, no doubt.

But I find that a lot more mature and respectful of the game then going on social media and saying how much you dislike a city (not because of the fans per se, but the "where's the best place to eat?" comment) just because of petty crap that's happened on the field.

If he were on my team saying stuff like this in this manner, to answer ThatGuy's question, i'd be embarassed. If I were another player on his team and had veteran status, I'd tell him to cut this [expletive] out. Make a statement by winning on the field, not crap like this.

But anyway, Brandon Phillips thinking this is all about him is kind of funny. As others have mentioned, I have a feeling that a lot of fans would rank him similarly as only the third (maybe fourth) person on that team I'd prefer to have Carp throw in the ear of.

I really hate white people.
