Fortunately, I wasn't on the blacked out zone and got to watch the game on espn3.com. unfortunately, the cards were closing out the nats at the beginning of the game and by the time I was able to switch the tv over to the Mizzou game, it was already over despite still being in the 1st quarter. It was 14-0 w 11 min to go in the first quarter. Mizzou, needless to say, looked good.

Bring on ga! Should be awesome.
Between the quality of opponent and the fact that it was on PPV, I imagine nobody really saw what was going on, or wanted to comment when it got ugly.

Waiting for the Georgia game is going to be brutal. I feel as good about their chances as possible given that they're playing a top 10 team. I'm a little surprised that College Gameday won't be there, but it's no big deal.

I agree w/ JL. Quality of opponent means it would have been a bigger deal if they hadn't crushed them. Some of us remember when the only sure thing was a mizzou loss. It was nice to see them put these guys away early. Gives me some confidence. Hopefully the tank has knocked the rust off and feels confident about the shoulder.

Schedule a patsy and expect to get talked about when you crap your pants not when the turd lands in the water.

Unless you're Oregon, that is.

I've missed 3 games in the last year due to obligations that brought me to central Illinois. The average score of those games(including a conference game) is 61-9. Very nice to see the points adding up quickly when all you can do is check the score. But really, this was the only layup game of the entire season, so simply putting them away early with no injuries while knocking the rust off should be the goal. Mission accomplished.

Not many teams outside the top 25 did what Mizzou did...Actually, I don't know of any that did.

Missouri belongs in the top 20 easily and hopefully they shhow that, again, against GA.

Arizona State 63
Northern Arizona 6

I do think that Missouri will end up being top 20.

If they knock off Georgia, I'm sure they'll get lots more respect.

Most other years, it'd bug me to see them this far outside the top 25. But I don't blame anyone this year- with the jump to the SEC- taking a wait and see approach. And really, whomping the [expletive] out of SELA wasn't going to impress anyone.

I assume everyone saw Sheldon Richardson's comments? He was asked if he watched Georgia on Saturday.
"I watched that game. I turned it off, too."

Why?

"It's like watching Big Ten football. It's old man football."

He wasn't done.

"They got a Heisman candidate at quarterback. OK. So we're going to get some and do what we're supposed to do. We create our own pressure. That's it, man. Don’t nobody put no pressure on us. We come out there for every game. We do what we're supposed to do. If we execute, nobody in this league can touch us. Period."

Someone asked Richardson if Missouri's SEC transition was getting overhyped.

"Way overhyped. They make it seem like we came from the WAC or something or never played against Oklahoma or Texas Tech and everyone else who plays for national championships. It's about that time we show them who we are."

Was it good for Missouri to have a tuneup against an FCS team before the Dawgs come to town?

"We could have played Alabama today. It don't matter, man. We're coming out here every game like this, high-intense football."

Pretty [expletive]' funny. I think his comments were obnoxious but I like the confidence. Plus, it's Sheldon Richardson. Remember when he was talking [expletive] about other teams before he had even left high school? And he has a point re: the perception that the Big XII is like the WAC or something, although I wonder WTF he was thinking adding Texas Tech. That has to be a brain fart.

I'd love for Mizzou and A&M to knock off Georgia and Florida just to shut the died-in-the-wool SEC fans up for a while. I've been listening to local sports radio a bit more lately, and while some people are relatively knowledgeable about Missouri and Texas A&M, most act like these two teams will be playing a completely different sport now that they've joined the SEC. I'm totally on board with the idea that the SEC is very obviously the best football conference, but these folks need to see firsthand that Missouri and A&M aren't Vanderbilt and Ole Miss.

I hope some of you GRBers can make it to Neyland in November. I'm very excited for that one.

Beating up on a 1-AA patsy isn't going to do a lot for the rankings.
