It's not, but it's the way you like it and that's what matters. I'm glad you found the thing that works for you.

Nah, there's not one and only one way to drink your whiskey any more than there's one and only one kind of pizza or one and only one kind of music or whatever. It's taste.

Julian Van Winkle recommends his 15 year in an Old Fashioned, the 20 year neat, and the 23 year with a drop or two of water. I'm not gonna argue with the man.

I know a man who would like to have a word with Mr. Van Winkle. His name is Jack Daniels.

I will.

I make a hell of an old fashioned. I love an old fashioned. The best way to taste a premium whisky and all it's flavors is not with a sugar cube, bitters, ice and orange peel. It is by itself.

Count me in the old fashioned fanclub. Also, really, I like to make manhattans with bitters, marschianoshshcohos cherries, Pimms and bourbon. Mmmmm mmmmmmm mmmmm emmmmm mmmmmmmmmm.

At least old fashioneds and manhattans have a little bit of volume to them that you can drink instead of wetting your lips every now and then....which is about as much fun as smoking a cigarette....imho.

What the hell is an old fashioned? Is that something old ladies drink? Sounds like it.

There's a million variations, but the gist of it is bitters, sugar, splash of club soda/water, ice, cherry/orange, and bourbon/rye. It's amazing how critical you are of things you've never tried!
