What the ...??? What's not to like about the Tap Room?
Actually, if you're referring to the food the quality has gone way down over the years imo.

I feel like I just overheard someone saying my mom is fat and ugly.

Right. It doesn't even compute.

I guess I could understand if the only times I had gone were during their busiest events, like the oyster and stout festival.

Side note- they had a huge event here in DC a few weeks ago, and I got to meet Tom Schlafly and Dan Kopman. The latter even struck up a conversation with me because he was happy to see a Cardinals hat. They were really nice dudes.

I only went once before I left town, and it was awesome (if you like oysters and stouts). But also hard to move around. The wait time for a table was like an hour or something.

Went to Tap Room in October 2013...not remotely impressed with whatever was on the menu at the time. Not a drinker so I'm typically judging a Schlafly by the menu and I much prefer BW.

Still, I think they should reconfigure that space-get rid of that wall separating the sterile Ms Sherry -sequel dining area- have a bigger central square bar in the middle of the whole deal and radiate from there.

Along this line, drank at the nearby two local craft beer bars-Global Brew and Side Project. Not sure why they have tables seats, but nobody waiting on them...global brew-they had a waitress but she acted pissed at life and didn't bother to come over to a group of ten thirsty gents. side Project -the setup isn't conducive to busy time - you get your beer over the top of the bros at the bar.
The spruced up menu is thanks to a long time friend of mine.

Besides being a great chef, she is super nice (and beautiful, too!)
Hmmm, not sure I remember her but apparently I went to high school with her at Metro. I clicked on that link and knew the name sounded familiar and one quick search on Facebook and what do you know, she went to Metro and I think she was a year ahead of me there. Maybe two.

Yep. That's her. I'm a few years older than her. My high school friends were friends with her sister and cousin. Her cousin Danny was the drummer in a local death metal band that was pretty good back in the early 90s. Man we used to party HARD back then. LOL
