I went to the game on Saturday and the guy I was most impressed with was catcher Jacob Nottingham. He wasn't tested stolen-base wise but he seemed OK on blocking balls in the dirt. I'd have to watch more games to get a better feel for his defense. His hitting was great though. He hit an opposite field 3R homer and also a 2 run triple off the center field wall. Just crushed both of them. In the early going he has a .863 OPS and 5 HR's in 90 PA's. He's only 20 years old and is all of 6'-3", 200lbs. He was the Astros 6th round pick in 2013.
He would have been our sixth round pick if we still had Luhnow.

HE COULD HAVE BEEN YADI'S HEIR!!!!!

Springfield lost last night but they did rough up a bit the seemingly un-rough-up-able Julio Urias. Urias went just 3.1 IP, walked four, struck out six, and allowed a couple HR--to Anthony Garcia and Jonathan Rodriguez.

The little bit I've seen of these Bandits, they seem like they might not have many superstars but they are just really, really deep. Not really a weak spot anywhere on the roster. It will be interesting to follow this group as they move up. I'd be shocked if they don't produce several fairly useful MLB players and maybe a star or two.

Urias will be sidelined for one month after electing to have cosmetic surgery on his left eye, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
