I've found that it's all about how well it fits into your daily routine. I wouldn't go out of my way to try and do it, but it's been working for me so far.

If it's not your main source of income, you drive a car that would make Dreamer downshift, your commute runs you through a bunch of neighborhoods where people socialize, you live downtown, you're used to dealing with drunks for a living and you need something to do besides hang out at bars like you used to, it's great.

It's pretty tough trying to make money at, let's say, 11am on a Teusday in St Louis though and it wouldn't be a fun way to try and pay all of your bills, not to mention the miles you'd put on your car driving full-time.

I booked an Uber to pick up the girl I just started dating last night and my driver is a new fan of my neighborhood and Tower Grove Park. With all the women walking to the concert in the Botanical Gardens and joggers and something else that must have been going on in the park... he was loving the sights. It was kind of hilarious listening to his reaction to every hot girl he saw. And there were a LOT out last night.

Apparently Uber drivers are now getting punished by Uber if they decline UberPool invites - you get blocked from the app for 15 minutes if you are a driver and you decline an offer near you.

Odd that Uber plays the whole "you're not an actual employee" card by drivers being Independent Contractors, but they treat their drivers like employees by applying actual monetary consequences if they don't accept certain fares. Interesting.

Yup. Basically do significantly more work but for little to no more extra pay. And drivers can get negative reviews from UberPool riders just because someone else got dropped off first, they didn't like the guy they sat next to, etc.
