Not true apparently and would not make sense if it were.
I believe the Bulls picked Justin Patton for the Wolves at 16.

Not that the 16 pick is all that valuable but wtf? What are the Bulls doing?

That trade is horrible for the Bulls.

Stunning that the Bulls trade an all-star for three players that seem to have that great a shot to be all-star caliber and had to throw in their own 1st round pick to do it. My take is that they probably had the no. 3 pick on the table with Boston but didn't want to trade him there and watch him go to the conference finals again the next couple seasons and then have a good shot at the finals if LeBron decides to leave Cleveland again.

As a fair weather Wolves fan, I'm very excited about the trade. The Wolves started winning more after LaVine's injury last season, and Dunn seems like a bust. If LaVine figures out how to play defense, then he can be good, but until then, he shouldn't be a starter or be on the court late in the game (the Wolves blew a ridiculous number of double digit leads last year). To be fair, hopefully Butler can also teach Wiggins how to play defense. They have some money to spend this off season, so if they can add a little depth to the bench, they could be half way decent.

Also as a native Iowan, I feel bad for Hoiberg. I think the front office has now set up the Bulls to fail and Hoiberg will somehow be the fall guy.

The Bulls aren't competing in the next 2 seasons, with or without Butler. They should have taken the best deal possible. I don't believe they did.

Listening to Bill Simmons post draft pod, he thinks that the Bulls must have been desperate to get him out of the East. Still, why give up pick 16 too!?
