I don't think Kyrou + either the 11th or 15th pick is that far off. Kyrou is 2 years younger, and offensively they are fairly similar - 30g/70p type output most years. Larkin is a better defender.
I don't see another team topping that offer.

Maybe on paper, except Larkin is a center, which has heavily inflated value, and Kyrou is coming off a down year. Without Larkin and/or a center coming back, they are basically wasting Kyrou’s prime years. (Also Kyrou would have to waive for Det which seems unlikely)
I mean, if they don’t get a center or center prospect back, their top line center is who? Andrew Copp? That’s a lottery pick top line center. (No disrespect to Copp, solid middle 6 guy, but it would be like having Suter as our top line center)
I think if they deal Larkin, they either get a center back who can be passable top 6, or they punt entirely for futures (including a good center prospect.)
I don’t know the wings prospect system at all though. Do they have a hotshot center ready to take a step? I honestly don’t know.
If the Wings were ready to punt I could see them wanting Dvo and 11 or 15 as a base for a deal. With additions. Most of the league wants a 2C, Larkin would be a top 5 ish 2C, and they don’t HAVE to trade him. They could Tarasenko him.

I get all that, plus Detroit not having a 1st round pick this year unless we traded them one.
However I don't see another team sending them an established 1C or 2C in exchange for Larkin either, because what would be the point? Kyrou at least replaces the offensive production lost with Larkin, and then you hope to draft a C. The only teams drafting before the Blues in the first round that I could see being interested in Larkin would be Toronto, the Rangers, maybe Seattle, NJ, maybe the Islanders. But I don't know if any of them would give up their pick - definitely not Toronto or NYR.

Here’s a fun idea that makes no sense in reality.
3 team trade where Det gets Kyrou and EP. Blues get Larkin. Nucks get futures as the base. (That’s just the base, additions throughout to even it all up) It’s a risk for Detroit but if they don’t want to punt, that could be doable. I still think the Blues have to give up Dvo to Vancouver though which I would hate.
Would it make more sense to just try and get EP from Vancouver for less? Would be a risk for the Blues but /shrug/ Might be fun to see what Kyrou and EP could do together. I still think the team is a bit early on the defense development though, even if I’m very encouraged by Mailloux’s second half and Jiricek’s development. (Sorry for the awful spelling)

I don’t think kyrou is waiving his NTC to go to DET
I actually don’t think he’d waive it at all to be honest

I definitely agree he's most likely not waiving it to got to DET. Especially if Larkin isn't there. I think he might waive it for a few win-now type places, but that doesn't help us get Larkin. LOL

What an intriguing off season this will be, starting with how we play our three first-rounders.

yeah that's what I'm the most curios about this offseason. It's been reported that army wants to package something to move up, but obv needs a parter.
we have no 2nd rounders but have 3 in the 3rd also...we have a ton of young guys, that I don't see us keeping and using all these draft picks (a whopping 12 in total) maybe packaging all 3 3rds to move back into the 2nd if there's someone they like, etc...there's no superstar in this draft, but the good depth is more than normal, from what I've read.

The pitfalls of trusting metrics without additional context.
A forward should at the very least be on a team's top PK unit to even be eligible for the Selke. And if you want to consider faceoff winning percentage at all as part of the defensive prowess of a player, hopefully you want someone over Kyrou's 19%.
