Not surprising, I'm afraid. He had an unusually hot April and May (for him), and pretty much vanished after that.

Man, that deal has the potential to be truly bad times. I love Helsley like any Cards fan, but his collapse with the Mets was ominous.

I'm hoping that it was pitch tipping that he is able to correct, but yes, there's volatility built into a Helsley signing.
But he is walking in the well-worn path of Jack Flaherty, Dylan Carlson, and Tyler O'Neill to the elephant graveyard that is Baltimore.
