I think I heard there's some website that'll let you cash in your gift cards. Of course they take a cut, but if you could get like $33 out of that $40 gift card, and not have to buy any of that clothing, that'd be a win.

Yeah, I'm not sure if it's trustworthy or reliable but I can get $31.50 on Amazon from CardCash.com.

BKE jeans are the most comfortable jeans on the market and hold up remarkably well, imo. I go through 1 pair about every 6 months or longer and wear them about 5 times a week. (yeah, I wear jeans to work almost every day, and the same pair multiple times a week)

I've never bought anything else at buckle though.

I crashed into a parked truck on Wednesday in a totally boneheaded move. My insurance will cover both cars except for my deductible. No one was hurt. I'm sure my premiums will go up by an unpleasant amount (unless Allstate's accident forgiveness policy really is forgiving), but we'll manage. We were already thinking about selling this car, so we'll definitely take a hit on the price we can get for it. And now we definitely won't be taking the vacation to France we were trying to justify because it was a sort of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity (B-i-L is living in Paris for 8 months, so we'd have a place to stay and a kitchen to cook in for at least some meals).

Thanks. But in the big scheme of things, it's a short term hit and we'll be fine. I've been thinking about ways I can kind of make up the cost of the deductible and premium increases, and I think there's some potential for it to be a long term benefit - assuming I follow through. In the short term, I'm skipping a weekend away with the boys to save a few hundred dollars and will resist buying new toys for a while and other things. Ultimately, giving up a little fun, but otherwise can't complain. But I'm REALLY hoping this "accident forgiveness policy" is as good as it sounds. We haven't had a ticket of any kind for over 10 years and no accidents for 20, so I'd like to think we deserve to not be screwed on a premium increase.
