i'm almost done with season 1 and i like it a lot.. it takes a while to get used
to the hokieness and the bad acting, but the soundtrack rules and the FBI
agent that kyle mclaughlin plays is fantastic

season 2 is 22 freaking episodes though.. that's ridiculous
One of the best shows ever.

I read somewhere that they are actors and none of it is real. I would think it was fake - I think they break a lot of laws on that show.

I watched the last like 9 episodes of season 4 of The Wire straight through. Starting at midnight with class the next morning.

Speaking of fake reality shows - I catch some of the TLC stuff when my wife has it on, and LA Ink is one of the worst offenders I've seen.

It's weird how people can be fascinated by things that would make for boring, unwatchable plots on a scripted show.

i've caught that one before too.. it's terrible and yet i can't stop watching.. i read that
2 of the chicks are actresses.. and really bad ones too.. and if you listen closely.. they
edit the [expletive] out of what everyone says.. someone will start talking and the camera
will cut off of them and their voices are then terribly cut and pasted to make it sound like
they're talking [expletive].. wow what a world we live it..

I don't think they read from a script, but like with LA Ink nobody would really hire those assistants/shop managers. Kat leaves and her brother just hires someone, and then she's cool with it and lets it continue forever when it clearly doesn't work.

So producers more or less "write" the show by coming up with these ridiculous scenarios, and the real people have to play them out. Same for those Real Housewives shows. Most people would just drop a subject, but I'm guessing they're contractually obligated to make a scene.

i knew from the first 5 mins of some episode i saw that it was fake...wikipedia confirms it, or it did at one time...i believe they are very vaguely based on true situations...but what they do/show in the show would mostly be illegal and it is acted out...

What happens on this show? Every time I see it all I see is somebody getting an ugly tattoo of a dead relative. I watch that for about 5 seconds and then change the channel.
