I can't believe I just spend 20 minutes gathering articles for some clown Braves fan on FanGraphs who's trying to insist that the organization was trying to come between Colby and his father, and that Tony Rasmus has not been spending the last few years on message boards agitating for a trade...

I think both sides come out winners. We were going to lose him by the time he hits FA anyway (and who knows if he'd pull his head out of his ass while still in StL?), and that's not too far away. If you win the World Series, you did something right.

We won the World Series after signing Ryan Theriot. Best use of $3 million ever, unless maybe you count paying 80% of Ryan Franklin's salary!

We can argue over the deal all day until we lose more posters, but the fact is we don't win the World Series without the deal.

A Yankee fan told me yesterday the Cardinals were struggling because we miss guys like Pujols and Theriot.

Except that I've illustrated before that the players we traded for weren't very good down the stretch or in the playoffs, despite everyone's efforts to ignore this for the sake of narrative.

Well, I can't imagine either would be any worse than Jake Westbrook.

I'll have to look for it, but I seriously doubt the dog [expletive] we were rolling out to the mound before the deal were any better than Edwin Jackson, Dotel or Scrabble. I'm sure their peripherals suggest they weren't good, but the results were there.

I am entering a 12 step program to stop asking who won the trade questions.
