31 days — McCain ads to focus on Obama “associations,” probably Rezko and Ayers
So what do our Chicago members think of these "associations"? Ayers is now a professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, holding the honor of Distinguished Professor. His radical past is there, but occured when Obama was in elementary school. I'm having trouble seeing how they can make a credible dent in Obama's support by going down this road. Am I missing something? And I don't know what to think of Rezko, but it seems like he's crossed paths with anyone involved in Chicago politics.

If McCain was even remotely associated with someone who bombed aboriton clinics, would there be so much "bah, who cares?" going on?

Have you read what Obama's association with Ayers is? I suggest you investigate further before accusing him of abetting terrorism.letsgocards89 wrote:If McCain was even remotely associated with someone who bombed aboriton clinics, would there be so much "bah, who cares?" going on?
And I am 100% certain that McCain has received money from, associated with or met at a cocktail party someone who has done despicable things in his past. I hope that it doesn't get down to digging in the muck for something to fling back.

Perhaps I inferred something incorrectly. If so, forgive me.letsgocards89 wrote:Way to put words in my mouth.lukethedrifter wrote:Have you read what Obama's association with Ayers is? In a nutshell, it's a non-issue with me.

Re: Obama/Biden vs. Palin/McCain: The Thread
I think part of the problem with Ayers is that Obama lied about their relationship. Obama called Ayers a "guy in my neighborhood" when he was asked about it. That's clearly not the extent of their relationship, but I also don't see any reason to think Obama agrees with anything about Ayers' past. Not so different from his initial denial of hearing Wright say controversial things, which he then set straight with the speech on race.Radbird wrote: So what do our Chicago members think of these "associations"? Seems like he should have come clean about it and just said you don't always get to pick who you work with, nor do you agree with those people all the time. I heard him say a few weeks back "you don't want to let what's best get in the way of what's good." Seems like that would apply here.

Does the Obama team bring up McCain's 'Keating 5' days if things start to get really nasty?

There's been a few articles here and there explaining their relationship, dispelling rumors and so forth. I just wonder if the same efforts would be made if the roles were reversed.
