What do we do next? We sent our troops into Vietnam to protect the bases. Lyndon Johnson said, Only to protect the bases. Next thing you know.... Well, we've declared to the terrorists that we're going to strike them wherever they live. That's fine. But what's next? That's where there might be some comparison.

I'd imagine if the Obama campaign really wants to knuckle up, here's a nice shiny golden opportunity.
I think the USS Cole being bombed and 9/11 changed many people's opinion on that. He could easily say the same, and would probably be telling the truth. I could be wrong, but I don't recall him being one who's gotten on Clinton's case for his handling of Bin Laden.

Palin made a semi-impromptu visit to Omaha today. As I'm watching the news, I see that she starts talking about some negative publicity she's receiving thanks to a "rather unfortunate interview with someone in the mainstream media."

A) Why can't she just say Katie Couric's name?

B) Enough with the jabs at the MSM. We get it.

You'd think that the joe sixpacks and hockey moms of the world would want to be associated with the mainstream. But for some reason I guess she prefers to associate with the extremist media.

I have mixed feelings about how Palin effect will play out the remainder of the way. If the polls continue to favor Obama, this media which she is ripping on (when in doubt, blame the media right?) will probably play up Palin. as has been mentioned, the media wants a close race for obvious reasons.

But then again, people like my mother-in-law, who is in the prime demographic that Palin was expected to win over... She didn't buy Palin's act. Palin didn't seem qualified nor honest to her. So maybe we all should just relax.

As the poll #s favor Obama, its just going to get more shrill as the days pass. Best to use ear plugs.

No, Rolling Stone is not a good source. Yes, much of it is blatant smears. It's still worth reading.

I read the sentence about his confession in the POW camp as I was scanning, and it turned my stomach to be honest. Maybe I read it out of context, but once I saw that then I clicked away from it in horror.

imo, it is not worth reading.
