1. We Bruins scored one goal in 60 minutes on their home ice. One.
2. This game didn’t come down to one call, or non-call, because we directed 65 shots at the Blues’ net, and put 39 shots on goal, and we managed one score.
3. We the Broons didn’t lose this game because of officiating. We lost this critical Game 5 because we peppered St. Louis goaltender Jordan Binnington with 17 first-period shots on goal, and we couldn’t crack him. We lost because we should have had at least a two-goal lead after 20 minutes, but Binnington denied us repeatedly and was phenomenal for the Blues......
I like how Berube has made it a point to not complain about officiating the entire playoffs while opposing teams and coaches have whined non-stop, including David Backes.
But when he makes one reasonable short comment about them and he all of a sudden he is the bad guy that has changed how games are officiated. Give me a f'n break.
Maybe the moral of the story here is your comments about officiating are better received by the officials when you aren't a whiny b all the time.

Oh, so *that's* what the B on their logo stands for...
I'm nervous as hell for Sunday night. Part of me is extremely jacked up about the thought of the Cup being in the building and ready to award at home. Then there's a huge part of me who remembers last Saturday when we were all pumped for the first home SCF game in 49 years, and the Blues responded with a stinker.
Hopefully with all of the B's fascination on the non-call, they'll be the ones who are distracted coming into the game.
Secret Weapon wrote:I just worry it's going to turn into a penalty fest against St Louis or the Blues become more hesitant because of all this nonsense.
Hopefully not a penalty fest. I don't think the Blues will change--they didn't let up after the Sundqvist suspension.
Though I do hope they play with discipline. Honestly some of their worst play has been when they've been most aggressive physically. They need to find that right balance they had in game 4.

$3100ish
Thanks
Hedge against pre-season bet on Blues apparently. Hedges against your own team should roil the gods.
Another reason i hate sports gambling.
The more i think about it, the more screwed up it is. A true fan should not soften the blow of his team losing a championship game by betting on the opponent. Never. But esp if it’s a Boston team.
I'm nervous for Sunday, but excited too. The Blues have a chance, and that's all you can ask for. I'll never be unhappy with the Blues having a 3-2 SCF series lead.
Boston is going to come out with everything. The Blues will have to play better than they did in game 5. We will see.

If Game 5 Binny shows up again in Game 6, I like the Blues chances....

Go Blues.
Counterpoint:
Fandom and gambling are unrelated or definitely should be. Both can be entertaining but only one is done with the intention of making money. And when big futures bets get to the finals, everyone is going to hedge or they should to guarantee the goal of making money is met.
If he hedged that amount he probably stands to make at least $6k on the winning ticket or so which is a lot of money to have riding on a series. Imo.

Point of information: he bet on Blues at beginning of season because he is a lifelong fan.
You’re saying gambling as a primary or secondary source of income changes fan equation? I dunno
