This seems irrelevant since it was a Hispanic on black thing.

I don't think it's irrelevant at all. Many, many white people are overjoyed because "the black thug got what was coming to him", regardless of who pulled the trigger.

That reads like you think black people have the wrong impression.

Zimmerman made the choice to go after Martin, I believe he would have followed any unfamiliar person, Black, White, Asian, Pacific Islander, Hispanic, or Native American. It was the idiot racist morans out there who were happy to see the "thug get it." I would argue the majorty of white people are not racist, it is just the idiots who are racist who are the loudest.

Also, typically hispanic and African American relations are strained and there isn't really any "persecution solidarity" like an earlier poster suggested. All this is generalized and primarily class-based, but it seems to be borne out of competition for good jobs.

Yeah, I wasn't implying that racism played a role in the killing (because I don't know if it did). I do think it played a role in the trial (because Zimmerman's defense fund was backed so well), and in the attitudes of many people following the acquittal.

I think they have the wrong impression about the majority of the white community, or maybe I do. I just know that the white people I hang out with and deal with on a daily basis are not racist, but I can't speak for all white people.

That is exactly the same thing. Great analogy.
