Floyd Mayweather v. Cory Spinks at the MGM on November 4!!

Link to PD

Cory finally got his big money fight, let's see how he does with it. Not many, including myself, will give him much of a chance against the P4P champ, but I wish him the best.

I question how effective Pretty Boy will be at 154, but Spinks doesn't pack much punch even if he can break through Floyd's defense. Mayweather may finally meet his maker at 154, unfortunately I don't think it will be Cory.

Floyd is going to pummel Spinks. Cory has no business in this fight.

In Cory's favor, I think Floyd will pretty much pummel anyone for the next few years. I think Spinks is going for one more payday why his name still means something.

Well, that's true, too.

I heard an interview w/ Spinks manager and they said all they want is money. Well, they'll get that AND an @ss kicking.

Dan Rafael of ESPN sure doesn't think much of this fight. Here's a couple tidbits.
Cory Spinks (35-3): Although has a mandatory due against Rodney Jones, there is a possibility that Spinks could defend his new belt against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Nov. 4 on HBO PPV. If it happens, Mayweather would move up from welterweight to offer the public a fight no one wants to see. It's a match so horrible that rather than charge people $50 to watch it, HBO PPV ought to give subscribers double that just to sit through it.
While Spinks may ultimately lose the fight, he feels he is ready for the big stage. It is not the greatest matchup for him, but how many fights among the best are ideal?
We're way too irritated at the prospect of Mayweather facing the agonizing-to-watch Cory Spinks on a $50 HBO PPV card Nov. 4 rather than seeing him face Shane Mosley, Carlos Baldomir, Antonio Margarito, Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Winky Wright, Ike Quartey, Vernon Forrest, Kassim Ouma, Jose Antonio Rivera or Luis Collazo to have anything nice to say this month.
Did he miss anyone? :)
Spinks was decisively knocked out by Zab Judah, who Mayweather just took to school in a second consecutive loss. And while Spinks holds a title at junior middleweight, he got it in debatable fashion and by literally running way from Roman Karmazin during the fight. Styles make fights, and this is as bad as it gets. More to the point -- if it is indeed Spinks-Mayweather, who would pay 5 cents to watch that horrific style match, much less $50? If the fight happens, maybe it's time for fans tired of being ripped off by crappy, overpriced HBO PPV fights to start a "Floyd-cott" and send the powers that be a strong and clear message.

Yes, styles do make fights, but is this one THAT lopsided? On the surface it appears to be, but we'll see I guess.

Heavyweight belts:

Klitschko-IBF
Brock-IBA
Valuev-WBA
Maskaev-WBC
Briggs-WBO

Sure does remind me of the Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Liston, Patterson days.

Oh boy. This oughta be something to see. Baldomir can take it and Mayweather can dish it.
