It was Tuesday, the day before my 12th birthday. It was cold and rainy, so I couldn't go outside and play. I figured this was a good time to choose my sexual orientation. After hours of weighing the pros and cons, I made a conscious choice to be straight. Srsly.

two entirely different situations, and you know that.
No, it's not, but you don't seem to know that.
yes it is. homsosexuals weren't forced into slavery for 3 centuries, lynched darn every day for even looking at a white woman, and were denied equals rights for 100 years. blacks didn't have a choice to have that skin color. they have a bullseye on their chest by the time they're born.
Well, most were forced/compelled to lie or hide their orientation and I'm sure many have been beaten to death for disclosing it...and I don't think you can state definitively that homosexuals chose to be homosexual.

on the other hand, i choose to be straight and have to fight those homosexual urges that us straights get 'cause we are choosing to be straight

When I was 12, I stayed over at my buddy Mike's house. We were camped out on the floor in his den in sleeping bags, he asked me if I wanted to butt [expletive]. I said no, without even thinking about it. Mike said he would tell everyone we did even if I didn't. I still said no. Mike of coure lied, and never told a soul, but I am sure he was afraid I was going to. He did not want to be my friend after that, but I didn't care if he was gay or not, to me he was just my friend Mike.
If it had been my friend Mary's house I was staying at, and she had made a sililar offer, I would have been all over it. So, I am pretty sure homosexuals are not gay by choice.

In college I witnessed an argument about homosexuality and choice. It ended with the born-gay advocate stepping forward and saying "fine, choose to be attracted to me, right now" only to garner a "I can't- it...doesn't. OK, whatever."

and if it IS a choice, which it isn't, I still don't care. At all.

Please note: Gay people must now meet the following criteria before receiving equal rights:
1. They must be forced into slavery for 300 years.
2. They must be lynched darn near every day for looking at white women.
3. They must be denied equal rights for 100 years.

#2 is going to be a tough one to work around.
