It even blew ESPN's mind...which is why it was on ESPN2 to begin with. In less words, First Take is not popular because of ESPN.
You're right that people want to hear about sports nonstop. At that time of day its either espn or fox news/cnn or some other crappy daytime TV. So they could put anything in that slot and it would do ok. But they get a few extra viewers for that show who are basically hate watching and that's apparently worth giving these guys a platform to piss people off and reflect badly on ESPN as a whole. I don't get it.

Agreed, - as much as feasible. Other than games, I tend to avoid pre-half-post game shows. Sportscenter -not much interest in those pricks. About the only time is when Cards win a post-season game and I want to bask in it. Talking head shows? Never -except they are on perpetually with sound off, at gym, bars, airports. ESPN is the commodity for those types of places.

I don't understand all the Johnny Football hoopla. Are people that interested in him now? I look forward to watching him play, but he was on sportscenter all weekend, and we're just talking about practice.

I feel like Fox Sports 1 is kind of making a push to take over ESPN's "monopoly" of the sports scene.

Nice to see I'm not the only one with that problem.

Same here. The ESPN site is really a First Take Viewer Simulator, causing computers to turn into passive, lobotomized morons that can't change the channel.

if you guys use ad block plus, i just realized there is a filter you can put on that should prevent it (watchespn/shockwave) from even loading.
