I can't believe I'm the only one that loves O'Sheas. I figured it would be the hands down favorite of those on this board.

Go to one of the older, seedier places to play $5 blackjack all night and get hammered on free, watered down drinks. One of them even has a little person dressed as a leprechaun who occasionally dances on the bar.

I didn't remember the name of the place til later on, but I share the love.

I didn't even mention BJ's Cocktail Lounge with the kinda cute lingerie bartenders or the Fireside Lounge, which is a very las vegas cheesy romance bar. Both are local's joints. Unfortunately he doesn't have time.

As long as it's on the strip, where you actually stay is not important. You won't spend much time in your room. Just look for the best deal.

You know how annoying it is when you are the only sober guy at a party where everyone else is drunk? That's kinda how I feel about Vegas.

It is close to Mesquite though, which is nice.

Last time we stayed there we stayed at a place called "The Platinum". It's a couple blocks off the strip (behind Bally's) & it's next to the Westin if you have an idea where that is. The rooms are sweet & huge (I think ours was about 1000 sq ft) and it was $159 a night. It has a full kitchen so you can keep your booze & beer there. If you don't mind staying a couple blocks off the strip I would recommend it to anyone.

Just know it doesn't have a casino in it, that's one of the things we like because the hotel itself is fairly quiet then we can head to the strip to party.

The Hard Rock was awesome about 10 years ago, but now it's lame. If you're looking for a trendy off strip property book at The Palms. It's the new Hard Rock.

FWIW, I know you play poker and MGM is a great place for that.

As I grow older I appreciate a nicer rooms more and more.

I wouldn't book anything too north on the strip. Places like circus circus, the riv and stratosphere are poor choices if you want to be close to the action.

I stayed at the Trump once. Got a great deal right when it opened on Priceline. It was awesome. Hot tub bath with a tv built into the marble wall.

The Monte Carlo is cheap and right in the action.
