While watching Pujols as an Angel last Friday, my honest emotion was that I was rooting against him. I want him to fail. I want the Angels to lose. I want the Cards to look smart for not giving into him. I want Beltran to have a MONSTER season. And most of all, I want the Cards to win the world series this year without him.

I agree with all of this. Of course, he's not gonna fail. In fact he'll probably lay waste to the American League this year. I'll be happy if the Cardinals make the postseason and the Angels don't. Go Rangers!dmarx114 wrote:While watching Pujols as an Angel last Friday, my honest emotion was that I was rooting against him. I want him to fail. I want the Angels to lose. Absolutely.
I do not understand the notion that we should still root for him. He chose the Angels over the Cardinals because of a few million bucks, when we're talking about hundreds of millions of dollars. Screw him.

Yup--you could vainly root for him to fail (keep up with that decline rate, Albert!), or you could just forget about him (mentally healthier, no doubt), but still rooting for him? Not a Cardinal anymore.Socnorb11 wrote:dmarx114 wrote:While watching Pujols as an Angel last Friday, my honest emotion was that I was rooting against him. I want him to fail. Forty million dollars is still forty million dollars, regardless of your current income.

I tried to ignore all the news about him, but everyone knows I'm a Cardinal fan and I get questions about Albert all of the [expletive] time.
