To erase evidence of any incriminating phone calls or texts that were sent from that phone. Because once you destroy that, there can't be any other records. Yeah, can someone explain why you would destroy your phone? I mean, I could see deleting everything (although cardsfansince82's point still stands), but why destroy it?
