Michael Sam - NFL's first openly gay prospect

I wouldn't equate with him being the gay Jackie Robinson since Robinson got heckled by the crowds at the games and also had to deal with fitting into an all white lockerroom. There might be some lockerroom issues with Sam but he's not going to get [expletive] on like Robinson did from the crowd.

Plus I think it's easier to do this in football when you're just another random member of the 11 guys on the field when the whole crowd isn't paying attention to just you when in baseball when you stand at the plate batting the whole stadium pays attention to just you and the pitcher while the ball isn't in play.

After three [expletive] teams gave Tim Tebow a job, I don't want to hear anyone talk about locker room distractions pertaining to Michael Sam.

There was something about Michael staying with friends not family when he went back to Texas.


At work one day- be very clear that a firehouse is very similarly nonprogressive on stuff like this- when 60 Minutes did a long piece on what makes someone gay. Had a very unpleasant discussion with a guy who, when I asked if his son was gay would he learn to be okay, said he would absolutely not accept that at all. Did not base it on religion.

I see the crazy westboro "church" is now planning a protest at the mizzou campus....that should be fun.

The protests prob stay calm for the most part at funerals, as it's a solemn event.

But go to a college campus with a bunch of angry (and drunk) 18-22 year olds??? Lol good luck WBC with that....

Did anyone see where they were saying that the abduction and killing of the 10 year old from Springfield last week was God's way of punishing the state for Michael Sam? Seriously. They were said to try and picket the candlelight vigil for the girl on Saturday. Not sure if they did, but there was a wall of people on both sides of the street for a two-mile stretch. I don't think they would have gone over very well there.
