Go look at Jimmy Butler's numbers in his first year under Thibs. Look at any rookie in their first year under Thibs. He doesn't play rookies, period. He might suck, but it's not a foregone conclusion yet.

Exactly. They're not making the playoffs for many years, barring something crazy happening. Who cares which conference Jimmy Butler plays in or which team loses to the Warriors? Simmons is just wondering why the Celtics didn't put something together for him when he saw that terrible package they accepted and he's trying to assign logic. In reality, the Bulls front office is just very, very bad at their job.
Now that I've read more and understand Levine's contract situation and that he's likely to make more than Butler the next couple of years, it just further cements the incompetence of Garpax.

Nope, I misread the ESPN below. I thought he was trying to say that Levine was a restricted free agent this summer and would likely get a $19M/year deal but he was actually talking about next offseason.

its amazing to me that this kid can have so much power. so let me understand correctly...this MPjr kid, he's going to mizzou because of the new coach. MPjr is a legit 1 and done and he's likely to be top 5 in *next* years draft?
and if the above is all right, then..the bulls, a million (billion?) dollar company(organization), want to draft MPjr because he's a local-ish (midwest) kid or he's just super talented and regardless of the reason he will revamp the club?
I was scrolling through the draft results and going to congratulate Saigon on a good draft with Jackson/Giles/Swanigan, but now I see it's the Kings getting Fox/Jackson/Giles. That's a hell of a draft for a team without a top 3 pick.
