I'm not sure how much of a newsbreaker Dan Buffa is although I'm familiar with his other works, but he's hearing the Blues and Sabres may have a deal that's along the lines of Thomas, Sobotka, Anton Andersson and a 2019 1st for Ryan O'Reilly and Alexander Nylander. Andersson was a 7th round pick of the Blues and Nylander was the Sabres first round pick in 2016 who's been underwhelming in the AHL. Both Thomas and Nylander have been held out of their respective prospect camps. Would happen after July 1st so Buffalo pays the roster bonus.

That would be a terrible deal...IMO thomas will be as good or better than ROR in a year or 2 anyway (and I’m not a ROR fan anyway, so it wouldn’t be hard for Thomas to do that, who
I think will be an absolute stud...what? Over 100 points combined this year?)...and the blues would be lying if it’s true. There was backlash from fans that Thomas was being held out for a trade and the blues put out a report (in the post dispatch) saying he’s only being held out to be careful since he just finished playing a month ago and they need him for this years blues team in the fall and want him rested.

I’m not moving Thomas or Kyrou for ANYONE.

I’d just assume have both of them up and playing for the blues and take their lumps, instead of this let’s try and compete every year crap the cardinals are doing and just be good enough to piss us all off

But I understand the blues operate under different constraints than the cardinals and NEED to make the playoffs to turn a profit.

(Sorry for the multiple posts)

I wouldn't like this deal if that's what it is but think you're underselling O'Reilly. Strong point producer and strong defensively by both eye test and metrics.

They can't afford to miss the playoffs like the Cardinals can. Tanking a season isn't an option.

I'll say anything but Thomas is fine. Kyrou isn't a dealbreaker.

ROR is good, a legit scoring line center, and I'd love to have him, but I'm glad Thomas isn't a part of that deal. I like Thompson, Kyrou... I like all the kids, but Buffalo isn't trading ROR for Gunnarson and Sobotka. Gotta give to get.

lol, I don’t know what to do?!

Sign David Perron!!!
David Perron has reportedly agreed to a four-year deal with the St. Louis Blues.

Perron is expected to get $16 million over the four year deal. It will be his third stint with St. Louis. He had a big year with Vegas last season as he had career best 66 points including 50 assists.

Perron is back again. 4 years and 16 million. The term and cap hit aren't bad and we needed another right winger, but I'm not a big Perron fan at all. Meh
