Gotta be good, right, unless they beat us too?

If you or I wanted to go to World Cup Qatar we could likely make it happen depending on how bad we wanted it and how disciplined or in debt we could bear to be, to varying degrees. I'm curious what this looks like for countries with (presumably) less of a middle class. Ecuador, for example has a per capita GDP OF $6k. Less than a tenth of the US. Who are these fans in Qatar? Rich people? Where does their money come from? Someone show me the blog or podcast on this, immediately. It's hard to Google.

I sure hope that doesn't sound racist or jingo. I'm not claiming any superiority.
Some fans were paid to attend until they got there. Then Qatar (cutter? cuitar? cotter?) cut them off. Oops! Not supposed to talk ill of the hosts. My bad.

No taxation without representation!

Will Lin Manuel Miranda write a hip hop musical about this game?

I think the funniest result would be a Sergino Dest banger and a 1-0. Just the least engaged dude on the pitch all of a sudden putting his defender in the spin cycle and letting it rip and then Matt Turner does the rest.

[expletive] the king. [expletive] the magna carta. [expletive] tea. [expletive] room temp beer. Winston Churchill ain’t walking through that door. Bobby Charlton ain’t walking through that door. The World Cup ain’t “coming home” to that blighted excuse for an island.

Really good half. I didn't like how deep in England was (that's what Paul Revere said). But we looked really positive and often dangerous going forward. Nice to see McKennie, and really the swagger this team was said to have arrive.

Last game we got outcoached in the second. Do good, Gregg.

I know nothing about soccer

So with 2 ties, are we basically done?

We can play with those guys. We dominated long stretches. Lots of players to like--Robinson and Adams.

Nice turnaround from the Wales game.

Great game.

Beat Iran--doable, we'll be favored--and we go the knockouts.

Way better than my expectations. US looked good for long stretches.

Would be nice to get a goal off a corner.

Not to complain, but of course it’s what I am good at. Given there was little/no difference between a loss and a draw, and a benefit to a win, thought they would have gone all out and tried to win.

Maybe they did and that’s what it looks like.
