I think your best play here might have been that our best soccer player is way more British than American (like all those German kids on the team) and, hysterically, only eligible because of birthright citizenship.

I’m not sure what the first F stands for. Federation?

If it is Federation, and the A is for Association, isn’t that sort of redundant?

Don’t get me wrong - the N in both NBA and NHL are not appropriate for two international leagues. Maybe it should stand for North American.

I actually think in the last two WC’s they’ve really come a long way on the things I hate most about the game: stoppage time used to be 3-4 minutes regardless of action. And this time flopping around in fake pain was much quicker to resolve with the ‘fine: then leave the field and you don’t play for a while’ rule

Egypt was absolutely robbed by the refs vs Argentina

In fact, they're like the 4th African national team that lost after 90 minutes in heartbreaking fashion (stopped time, extra time or penalty kicks). It's a trend
