So basically every New Yorker ever, about anything that isn't exclusively theirs.

I dunno, I kind of like the idea that there's a place that won't lie down and spread its legs for the NFL. Let's be honest here--the NYC metropolitan area has more to offer than places like Indianapolis or Jacksonville.

I think letting an area host a super bowl is NFL way of patting on the head, for spending a billion on new stadium and supporting infrastructure/services.

Indianapolis was consumed by Super Bowl week. It was electric. That's how it should be for the biggest event that sports has to offer.

Why are we (or 99.8% of us) supposed to care if NY isn't fully embracing the SB experience, or if the weather misbehaves? Just because the pool of reporters, dignitaries and NFL fan elites feel slighted....the rest of us will still be eating chili, drinking beer.

If you want the Super Bowl to be electric, one of the participating teams should host it.

Meanwhile, not sure why it's to NYC's discredit that it isn't wigging out over the NFL hype machine. Because that's what we're talking about here, all of the loud, obnoxious hype, not the game. Speaks well of New York that it isn't going gaga over all that ridiculous nonsense that Leitch describes. What should they do, lay down rose petals for Roger Goodell to walk on? Are we supposed to admire Indianapolis for obsessing over the Super Bowl because there's nothing else to do there?
