Also, the surgeon called this afternoon. Oscar's surgery went great - she said the fracture was realigned almost perfectly, which allowed her to use a smaller plate and larger pins than she had originally planned on using. I'll pick him up tomorrow afternoon (actually considering just taking a half day and driving down to Syracuse after lunch), and will bring him back in a couple weeks for his cast to be removed.

So excited!

Interesting - the beagle I had from the time I was 10 until college was named Oscar too.

That was my inspiration for naming him Oscar, too!

Walking the Big Galoot tonight, I drop his leash and let him chase a rabbit. He follows it into the woods by the creek. He comes out without a rabbit, but somehow his leash came unhooked from his collar and is gone. Weird - I guess I didn't have it hooked on there.

Anyway, so without a leash walking back home, he goes back into the woods and comes out with a ...

And he was so proud of it. Carried it a half mile back home. Wanted to share it with the family.

Picked him up this afternoon. He is so happy you have no idea - obviously I'm just as happy, if not happier. He's already basically back to his old self - he's jumped a few times wanting to play fetch!

The purple cast was mad much dope... blue is fine... but he should go back to the purple.
