My folks just decided to adopt this little guy:

Eli is a darling little Apricot Toy Poodle, that won the lottery! He was found abandoned on a main road - sores all over him, itchy, his skin was hot to the touch from infection, and he needed water quick. Found by a Good Samaritan and brought to our shelter, after which he was immediately taken to our veterinarian for emergency care. Eli won the lottery just then - he was diagnosed with Sarcoptic Mange - started on medical treatment right away - and in the next few days, relief from the mange came. Over the next few weeks, he continued on his medication - and today, we are happy to say he is cured! Never to look & feel like that again is a blessing. Eli has been lucky to have stayed in a foster home, where he received personal attention & love every day of his recovery. This gives us an opportunity to tell you so much about Eli, too: our veterinarian puts his birth date at 8/19/06, he weighs in at 7 lbs. now. He loves attention, and your touch will melt his heart. If you stop petting him, he will reach out to your hand with his little paw - love is a two way street! He is house trained, loves to play with other gentle dogs (although toys aren't really of interest to him), he is cat-friendly, of course dog-friendly, does not bark (unless it is necessary). He is a gentle & loving gentleman. Eli has a clean bill of health now. He is neutered, fully vaccinated for the year, microchipped, wormed, tested negative for Heartworms & is current on heartworm/flea/tick preventative. He has been professionally groomed, and had a full dental scaling done by our veterinarian (he had 3 loose teeth in the front, that were removed at that time, also).

To all who are interested! All of the dogs in this album are scheduled for euthanasia. All have been dog and people aggression tested and need out ASAP! We are trying to pull as many as we can. If are you able to foster for the next 2-3 weeks, PLEASE contact or email foster@aaanimalrescue.org.

We are in need of foster homes for Nov. 6 ON. The transfer that we have coming in will consist of a lot of adults. As always, we provide food, medical care, kennels, and anything else you might need to help out a furry friend. Email foster@aaanimalrescue.org if you are interested!
I wish I could take them home with me...
