Is Stastny a FA? He fits really well in Colorado. Would be interesting to see if the Avs let him get away.

If I were running the Blues and they offered that, I would do that deal and disconnect my phone and e-mail.JCShutout wrote:I like Spezza, but I doubt they will trade him for Jackman and Berglund.

I thought his injury was ultimately not a concussion, but an ankle or leg injury.cardinalkarp wrote:Take this for what it is, because it's 3rd hand info....but a friend of mine at work has told me that he's gotten word that Backes' injury from the playoffs this year could potentially be career threatening.
I was surprised to hear that because I thought the NHL's policy on concussions was pretty strict, & fairly cut & dry about when the player could get back on the ice. But after talking to him a bit more, the source of the info was from within the organization & from people that I wouldn't think would joke around about the issue.
I think the injury being referenced by karp is the residual stuff from the head shot he took in the Chicago series from Seabitch....errr.....Seabrook.mikechamp wrote:I thought his injury was ultimately not a concussion, but an ankle or leg injury.cardinalkarp wrote:Take this for what it is, because it's 3rd hand info....but a friend of mine at work has told me that he's gotten word that Backes' injury from the playoffs this year could potentially be career threatening.

I think this is no longer a valid idea. 10 goals in the playoffs will make a guy super expensive come off-season time.cardinalkarp wrote:Does anyone think it would be worth going after Marion Gaborik in the offseason? I believe he'll be a free agent, and when healthy he can be that pure goal scorer the Blues could be searching for.
