Playoffs? Wow hard to believe another soccer season has come and gone. Seems like just yesterday they were playing with friends.

Yes, it was - twice - the first time for about 45 minutes, the second time for better than two hours. They had to fill with excerpts from "St. Louis Cardinals - The Movie" and Ferdie Pacheco's World Series sketches before NBC finally aired a couple of episodes of "The Cosby Show".

Amazingly, John Stuper came back after both rain delays, wound up pitching a complete game, and - of course - was never the same again, sent to the minors in mid-1983, and out of baseball by 1984 or 1985. With a big lead like they had, and given that Steve Mura hadn't pitched at all in the postseason (neither did John Martin; Herzog went the entire postseason using just eight pitchers), it would have made more sense to bring Mura into the game at least after that second delay.
