He's a year old, okay, I guess that might mean something. What exactly it means, I'm not entirely sure. Is there something that shows that pitchers that turn from 31 to 32, begin to fall apart?
There's absolutely nothing to suggest that he'd have a bad season. Not his K rate, walk rate, HR rate, hits per 9 innings, lingering injuries...etc...nothing. I really don't understand the basis of your "feelings". Sounds like it's all based off the fact he hasn't been lights out during ST, which again, is the most worthless practice in terms of season success there is.
I guess Pujols will be bad too this season, considering he doesn't have any ST homeruns. I'm not trying to pick on you, just don't get how you got to that conclusion of Carpenter having an off season, when none of his statistics point to a decline in production.
