Barton, by the way, has this line so far this year:

.220/ .301/ .319

And last year, it was .259/ .389/ .395 in AAA.

Which isn't to say that he's not a legit prospect, or an attempt to argue the Mulder trade because you all know I'm sick of that. I'm just pointing out that his power and productivity hasn't translated above AA at all, to date. He's still very young, though.

I'll never understand giving an extension to a guy coming off surgery for a torn rotator cuff. Never.

Because there's no risk involved.

Huh?

There's risk in that he won't earn money. But hey, it's just money. It has no bearing on the way a team's constructed.

I think if they are out of it by midseason, they don't have much of value to trade, I mean they're is no way they Pujols or Carpenter. I don't think they would trade Rolen, maybe Eckstein?

But who do we have of interest to anyone. Maybe some bullpen such as Johnson or Flores. Should get interesting

I would think that since Izzy's contract is up this year...and we keep losing, he will approve a trade just so he can show everyone that he is healthy, so he can sign a new contract.
