Re: Rave: First Trip to Vegas
This thread is pumping me up for my Vegas trip this weekend. I'm flying in Friday night and leaving on Monday. I'm going to meet a buddy who is working out there.

I'm going to Bullhead City this Friday for work. I'm gonna make my way across the river to place some bets in Laughlin. Ever been there? It's one of the saddest places I've ever seen.Michael wrote:This thread is pumping me up for my Vegas trip this weekend. I'm flying in Friday night and leaving on Monday. I believe this photo is from inside one of the glamorous Laughlin casinos.

I'm flying out Thursday and will be there til Sunday for a bachelor party and wedding. I would say let's meet up for a drink....but.. Vegas trips are way too unpredictable to set something up.

How much do you think the average resident of Vegas hates Vegas tourists? I would say "a lot". Like I'm sure they're happy that people are bringing in money for the city, but at the same time, I'm sure loads of people act completely obnoxious trying to replicate things they see in movies.

I think the tourists are pretty well contained. Most locals don't go to the strip and downtown, so it's not a big deal.

I know of a couple people that moved out there and I think they all knew what they were getting into.Kyle wrote:How much do you think the average resident of Vegas hates Vegas tourists? 82 and Blitzer live out there now, I believe as well as JMon. They could probably give better insight to this, but I was under the impression that the residents lived away from the strip and could avoid interaction with the tourists if they wanted to. Actually, looking at google earth, it doesn't appear there is anywhere to live near the strip while the entire surrounding area is one huge suburb...

By the way, I wasn't trying to come off as pretentious or condescending. If I go out to Vegas I would undoubtedly act like an idiot. It's just, I'm sure the novelty wears off really fast for people that live there (if they have exposure to them).
