A bit late, but Jenkins pitched Saturday. His line: 5IP, 4H, 1ER, 3BB, 7K. He had his offspeed pitches working pretty well. His issue is still control. Ump had a huge strike zone, and he still walked 3 and got behind in some counts.

Anthony Garcia hit a 3R homer in the game. He has cooled off some from when he was hot in June/early July. I have to wonder if the grind is wearing him down a bit. The most games he's played before this season was 51 last year.

You get to watch him. I've got a stat line. So, my comments mean almost nothing. to me, it seems like his problem is all about the walks. Great K rates. Not a lot of hard hit balls against him. But, his era is messy and his K/BB rate isn't great... all because he's walking 4 guys every 9. It's skyrocketed from last year.

Don't know if that's hurt his standing among scouts or not. He's still so young and everything else looks really good. I'm hoping it's because he's still raw and just needs more time. But, we've seen a lot of pitchers over the years come through and never get their control issues figured out.

He lowered his ERA with that last outing to 5.18. He has been hit hard at times. In fact, he has at times looked terrible. At other times, excellent. Consistency has been his struggle.

Part of his problem *could* simply be stamina. A long outing for him is 5 innings. Some of the games where I saw him get lit up were in the 4th or 5th inning after he'd already thrown a lot of pitches (for him). Hopefully his strength and stamina increase as he develops.

He has most definitely taken a hit in the scouting community.

I've heard negative thoughts on his makeup as well.

Quick, get DocEllis on the case. She knows more about makeup than anyone.

@QCRiverBandits RHP Tyrell Jenkins Ks 1st 2, then on 1st pitch to 3rd batter grabs right side. Leaves game 0-0. LHP Jonathan Cornelius in.

Had no clue who this guy even was but strangely enough my wife got me a few packs of baseball cards in my stocking (yeah, I'm 35 years old but it's a tradition :P ), but I got some redemption card for a signed Jenkins card. What are the chances this guy pans out to anything or is this going to be some signed card of a guy the never sees a major league game?
