There is absolutely a law school out there who will take her, even if she fails her test. But the joke's on her. There won't be a job for her after that law school.

Shouldn't law schools, medical schools, and such have firm zero tolerance standards for academic dishonesty? I'm not a believer in "youthful indiscretions" of an ethical nature, and these are professions where I don't think anyone wants unethical practitioners.

...I'd throw engineering into that mix as well. We don't need planes falling out of the sky, wheels coming off cars, bridges collapsing, or a new Challenger mishap (although it was the engineers screaming NOT to launch).cpebbles wrote:Shouldn't law schools, medical schools, and such have firm zero tolerance standards for academic dishonesty? eh, if they threw students out for every time they copied off another student on homework in engineering school, I don't think a single student would graduateTimeForGuinness wrote:...I'd throw engineering into that mix as well. I never copied and I graduated.
So at least a single student did graduate.

Somewhat agree...and even if you were copying, odds are you'll flunk out or switch majors in a semester anyways...engineering definitely weeds bad people out eventually. I didn't know many cheaters because you really couldn't cheat, group work was allowed (except on tests), most classes allowed cheat sheets for tests (never did you any good anways), and teachers were always pretty helpful if you had questions (well, to me at least).cards2468 wrote:eh, if they threw students out for every time they copied off another student on homework in engineering school, I don't think a single student would graduateTimeForGuinness wrote:...I'd throw engineering into that mix as well. You never once worked with another student and said, "You do problems 1 and 3 and I'll do 2 and 4"?Joe Shlabotnik wrote:I never copied and I graduated.

Oh yea, the weak ones definitely got filtered out early, but I'm mostly refering to those weeks where you have 3 exams, 2 projects due, 2 lab reports due and a handful of homework assignments, so you get together with your study group and divide up some of the work.TimeForGuinness wrote:Somewhat agree...and even if you were copying, odds are you'll flunk out or switch majors in a semester anyways...engineering definitely weeds bad people out eventually.
