I'll never understand how someone with a $40 million contract even gets tangentially involved in stuff like this.

because he's a 24 year old with a $40 million dollar contract. And has been given the prima donna treatment at least since high school. That has to skew someone's judgement. Personally, I had a hard time with decision making at that age in life, even without all the wretched excess and warped perspective. And my poor decisions were more pedestrian.

And reports I heard was he lived life "on the edge". There are a lot of football players with serious personality disorders. The game attracts some violent people by nature.

I know this seems unfair, but I can not disagree. Especially when women are involved. Football is controlled by physicality and brute force in many regards. And when something or someone refuses to cooperate with this law of violence and force - some have a hard time with it.
