Ryan Braun has already called Brewers' season-ticket buyers to apologize for being a douche. I don't think he has the energy to take on the Cardinals' phone list.

MLBTR did an interesting write up on Fowler. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/11/f ... owler.html
Expected Contract

While he is hardly a flawless player, that’s not necessary to strike it rich in free agency. Fowler profiles as a solid regular, and certainly seems to have a better case than did Josh Reddick — who just signed with the Astros for $52MM over four years. We’re predicting a four-year, $64MM contract for Fowler.
I think we all established we'd pay that in a heartbeat, right?

Unrelated, remember when that site was a [expletive] joke? It's nice a aggregator now.

I do remember. I think it's been a good site longer than it's been a bad site by now. Tim Dierkes worked hard to make it something.

According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, Dexter Fowler's representatives believe he can get $18 million per season on a multi-year deal.
What a difference a year makes. Fowler ended up settling for a one-year, $8 million deal last offseason after rejecting a qualifying offer, but the outlook is much rosier this time after he batted .276/.393/.447 with 13 homers, 48 RBI, and 13 steals over 125 games in 2016. Granted, Fowler wasn't nearly as productive after the start of June, but he's a switch-hitter with proven on-base ability. Heyman hears that the Cardinals, Blue Jays, and Giants are among the clubs believed to have interest.

I'd be fine with that. If it's a choice between Turner or Fowler- and it's not, I'm just saying... IF it's a choice- I'd rather Turner. But that's a perfectly reasonable price for Fowler.

He started out basically doing the site himself. But he used to bite at anything remotely newsworthy, before checking to see how credible. He's a YUGE Cubs fans, and sometimes he puts the most homerish stuff up.

This was brought up a few weeks ago, about how he always had digs at the Cardinals, yet the Cardinals end-of-season report is full of praise for the team, and I don't remember reading anything you could call an insult for some time.

Re: Fowler (or Turner), spend the money now. It's not going to be available next year (just like the money they were going to spend on Price last year isn't still hanging around this year), they've cleared the payroll space, and they need the position filling. 21 mill or 18 mill, doesn't matter, the Cardinals can afford it and it blocks literally no other moves.

i mean, i know the cards aren't hurting for money, but why throw $18-$20 mil around now, when come 2018 that money can be put towards a free agent out of that class?
