50 FV Cjinte. Sone have as a 55. I don't see him quite as high.
Peete has huge fans. I don't like the swing and miss.
Ledbetter is a 40.
Comp B pick.
Would you trade Peete, Ledbetter, comp B pick for a 50 FV?
Maybe. Maybe not.
It feels like they got just about what you'd expect for two years of Donovan.

With the quantity, including the pick, I’m fine with it.

To be fair to Gorman and Walker, we know the team has been abysmal at developing prospects to save bucks on hiring some coaches to do the work. Hopefully, Bloom has fixed that problem.cardsfantx wrote: ↑February 2 26, 5:25 pmEh, Gorman and Walker were both top 100 guys
I do not like Cijntje, like at all…would’ve taken most any other top prospect from the M’s over him
I'm glad to see Bloom is being bold to make some changes instead of running scared about making a mistake and then explaining it away using some word salad.

I’m letting my dislike of cijntje blind me, but the trade is fair
Guess when they were talking at the beginning of the offseason that half the teams were in on Donovan, that I was hoping for an overpayment
Were also going to need a nickname for him as im not going to correct my autocorrect every damn time

Ledbetter doesn't seem like anything too special and if he sticks I think it would be as a 4th OF. Has speed and can play CF.

[expletive]! I can't believe he's gone.
Rebuilding is a [expletive] term created by owners to pretend they have no choice but to sell off assets to make the team better. Gorman and Walker still could have found playing time with Donovan on the roster. Contreras wanted to stay a Cardinal. We could have still watched Contreras and Donovan instead of the historically bad season the Cardinals are about to have.
I can't wait to see the drastically reduced ticket and concession prices for the drastically reduced quality in the product. That will happen, right?

Disagree here. Barring being the Yankees or Dodgers, I don't think it's sustainable to consistently spend in free agency to avoid a downturn to try to mask fundamental issues with the roster and construction. If the Cardinals spent money in FA aggressively, do you think they realistically would have been able to compete for the WS?
I don't. They didn't have a solid foundation of players to actually compete and contend that would be supplemented by FA to win.
Ownership should have been willing to have a season like 2026 is about to be a long time ago.

I fail to see who will provide the offense on the 2028 cardinals, but we acquired a [expletive] ton of pitching at least.
