Because I side with the players I watch and pay my money to see over the guys in the suites.

And if free agent players take less than they’re worth, it will affect how much those newcomers or lesser players earn too. I’m fine with arbitration reform too, but I don’t blame players for getting everything they can out of ownership.

Not sure where to put this, but more news on new the "social space" in the stadium. Will be the Budwesier Terrace.

Sounds like The Rooftop at Coors Field that opened a few years back. It's okay but there is not much game watching that goes on up there.

Looks like they removed quite a few seats, though from experience the sightlines there weren't great, as the view of the right field corner was obstructed:

But paying veterans more and more increases the chances that you're going to see an Albert Pujols painfully playing out the rest of his career, over a younger and better 1B/DH the Angels could have on their roster instead.

I understand your point, but you have to recognize the reality of the situation too.

I don't agree that free agents taking less would impact how much pre-arb players make. That issue is completely in the court of the Players Association, which is primarily ran by the veterans. MLB has the biggest problem of all the major sports in terms of veterans getting paid way more than players entering the league. The system simply doesn't fairly reward the best production.

The Angels always have the option of buying out Albert should they so desire.

I feel I understand the reality of the situation too. In a perfect world the Cardinals would be municipalized. In a slightly less perfect world, the owners give back to the fans. Neither is close though so I’d at least prefer to see owners spend more on players than to pocket the money with no promises of what they’re going to do about it. There can still be arbitration reform too.

I really like what the Cards are doing out there in right field. For one, I don't think those seats were the best sellers so they aren't really losing anything in ticket revenue but at the same time, it makes things like the Ballpark Pass an even better deal for me and I was thrilled with it last year. The worst thing about the Ballpark Pass last year was that so many people used and the prime standing locations are kind of limited.

I'm really looking forward to all of that standing room access with convenient full service bars and open space behind. I think I'll be spending a lot of time there this season. There is so much space there in that right field corner of the upper deck and it will be really nice to see it utilized better. There is also plenty of space out in center as well but there is so much traffic from people walking to other parts of the stadium that it ends up being really cramped once people start standing there to watch the game. In the new area, there is nowhere to go through since that's the end of the concourse on the upper deck.

I sat somewhere around there for Game 6 of the 2011 World Series. When Freese hit his triple we didn't know what happened until we saw him rounding second base. Wish I would have been following along and bid on one of the seats they took out. Tried loading https://cardinals.com/seats but it doesn't look like the webpage is working anymore.

Wouldn't it be amazing to BE the mystery team for a change?
