I'll hold out until winter is over, but the Cardinals appear to keep doing what VEB's red baron described last year as making a surgical strike on an area of weakness and moving on (Peralta in '14, Heyward in '15, Fowler in '17, Ozuna in '18) without further improving. It's clear they want Donaldson and it isn't going to happen. And the rest of the free agent/trade market doesn't provide much upgrade. But come on, they passed on Addison Reed for two years?
