British historical fictional drama based on detective working on cases during WWII. A little Scooby-doo ish. Good story telling though the Brits make their TV slower moving than I'm used to.

Good stuff, I'm going to stick with it. 90 min episodes - my biggest hurdle-staying up that late.
Foyle's War and Poirot are my go-to for any weekend day where I have a hangover. Close the blinds and let the pleasant but mildly stimulating British procedurals carry me to recovery.
I am in post-war "Foyles War". I think the episodes are generally better over time. I don't change my description-Scooby Doo, Brit style. Sometimes the plot is too damn convenient and DCFS Foyle too superBrit brilliant at times -but its always a good comfort story to zone out to.

New character in season 7-Adam Wainwright.

Been awhile since I saw The Wire.

1. I always thought the schools were season three and my favorite.
2. I always thought my favorite McNulty line was season 4. (Jameson neat; "All we got is Bushmills; That's protestant whiskey" - it gets funnier the deeper you dive. Bushmills is actually owned by catholics, but Jameson is owned by protestants. Know Ireland and a dime about religious history, that's funny)>
3.

I don't know why, maybe it's Idris Elba's success. Maybe it's my anti-hero love. I always thought Stringer won that [expletive]. The convo between him and Avon is one of the best scenes in tv history. The levels. The everything. You hated Stringer but you always respected his brains. You hated avon but you always respected his humanity. Stringer killed kin that Avon wouldn't. But Avon would stroke a check for the boxing gym. Stringer was for stringer. Avon was for the community but never the right way or reason. He fell in to the right solution. Fascinating regardless

Apparently it's an Irish-American thing, Bushmills being from Belfast and Jameson being from Cork. And though historically you are correct they've both been owned by mega multinationals for some time and back in the 70s both were owned by the same company. I have been to the Jameson Distillery in Midleton, County Cork and they make all sorts of non Irish Whiskey there, Absolut maybe?

I really need to re watch The Wire. My wife hates McNulty and loves Stringer. Baah. Maybe I won't rewatch it with her.

Holy [expletive] IASIP! That was awesome, but feel like there's gonna be some issues with that ending!

The plot is painfully straightforward and cliche, but Goliath was pretty entertaining on the strength of a great cast. Anyone else watch it? Surprised that it came out last October and I didn't know it existed until this week.

I started watching Hannibal on Amazon Prime. The show is legit. Mads Mikkelsen is fantastic.

Do yourself a favor and stop after season 2. Also on Prime is The Man in the High Castle which I love though I'm a geek for that type of stuff (WW2/Spy/Covert Opps/Alternate and Parallel Universes, not Naziism in general) and Goliath was pretty decent too.
