Beating a woman in the face while raping her isn't funny. And it shouldn't be funny to anyone. The fact that those two morons sat and laughed at the homeless guy while he said he wanted to do this to Rice (imo) means they should lose their audience. It scares me that people think that is funny.
Just cause they said it doesn't mean people found it funny and one statement shouldn't ruin someones career.

No one is forcing you or anyone else to listen to the show.
I don't listen to the show but that still doesn't make it OK.

What sick individuals would find a homeless drunk guy spatting his mouth off about raping and beating women funny?

I'm sure he wasn't being serious but still what's the point of it all?
The flaw in your argument is that not everyone has to agree with what they say or find everything funny at every point of the show. Just because they say one stupid thing doesn't mean that they have to be kicked off the air because it offended a select number of individuals.

If you're watching a Cardinals game on ESPN, do you agree with everything the announcers say? I'm sure Opie and Anthony fans don't find rape funny, to generalize them into that is just flawed.

I listen to Howard Stern occasionally, and I find myself disagreeing with him every once and awhile. I don't petition to get him kicked off if he says something offending to me, I have the choice to turn it off or quit paying if I want and I'm not so uptight that I'm going to ruin someones life over a single statement.

People make mistakes and people are WAY too uptight now a days.
I voted that they shouldn't have been kicked off the air BTW.

When Howard was on regular radio I was an everyday listener.

Edit : It would've been just as easy for them to dump that from their show but instead they laughed about it and now they're paying the consequenses.

It wouldn't bother me if it did.

O&A appeared to find it funny. I assume that is why they were laughing and helping the homeless guy along with his rape fantasy.

My point is censorship is BS. It's a paid service, people have the option to listen to them, nothing is being forced. If you don't like it, don't listen to it! It's as simple as that, really. I'm sure any who is complaining about this has said something worse in their life. And if not, congrats on being a saint. Their show is crude humor, if people like it, so be it, but don't ruin it for them just because you don't agree with it.

It's ok to speak your mind about people, you have that right. Do you think Laura Bush and Condoleeza Rice are warmongers, unrepentant money grubbers, just out and out evil people. Great scream it from the mountain tops.
Fantasizing over the public airwaves about wanting to rape and beat violently a specific person is not ok. That infringes on someone elses right to live in peace.

XM is not public airwaves and in no way infringes on someone elses right to live in peace. Not only do you have to pay to listen to it but you then have a right to pick what stations you want from there.

No, it does not matter if they pay for the right. I have xm, don't have o & a. Those women have the right to not be threatened. I really don't see how that's defensible. It doesn't matter if someone paid to listen to it. The other people have their rights also.

This is not correct. Although XM is a pay service, they do use the publicly owned airwaves for their transmissions.

agreed 100%. It's not about them thinking rape is funny, it's about going against what they advertise and that's freedom. Because of this, many people are dropping XM. Opie and Anthony ARE the draw on XM.
