The offense has tanked. We have a glaring hole at 3B. We have a replacement-level or slightly better MI. We have 3 mediocre LH outfielders not named after Scandinavian Cheese. We have 3 pretty reliable starters.

And Gordo wants to sign Pedro.

He wants his competitive nature in the clubhouse. He wants Albert and Yadi to be happy. He wants an impact move. Why not just hire Randy Macho Man Savage as dugout coach?

Adding Pedro makes little sense. Adding $3M to our payroll right now before we have addressed the aforementioned needs makes even less sense.

Now Bernie claims that Moz "risks losing the clubhouse" unless he makes a trade to help the struggling offense.

Good grief.

Bernie's next report will be about "lockerroom radicals" and the rising threat of "clubhouse terrorism". No Gatorade dispenser is safe.

Homeland Security will now post concession stand warnings to alert the fans to the present danger.

-Update: some have communicated to tell me that Waino’s velocity isn’t down; that according to fangraphs. My response to that is that as much as I admire (and use) fangraphs, it isn’t the only source of data. Wainwright’s fastball hasn’t backed up that much but it is down a little. However: one astute reader made an excellent point, reminding me that Wainwright’s mph on the fastball actually went up a couple of notches after Chris Carpenter worked with Wainwright. This is true and this is another example of why I’m thankful for intelligent readers.
What?

So basically he just said, "Thanks for proving me wrong but I'm going to say I'm not wrong. Your concrete, thoroughly logged data is no match for my anecdotal musings. Thanks, but nice try. As a journalist I'm supposed to do fact-checking, but I don't want to. Thankfully my readers bailed me out and did it for me, but I'm still going to dismiss it out of hand with no counter evidence."

BM has a thick body, but he is very thin-skinned.

Several of posters at the Lunchbox comment on Joe Buck Live, then Bern tells them that none of them got it, despite the fact that everyone got it.

Bernie has the only board I've seen where the locked threads outnumber the open threads. (exaggerating, but not much).

By the way, he says that he will ban anyone who starts another Slaten thread.
