tough to find good copies of them..
the only two that did nothing for me are "topaz" and "torn curtain".. and "torn curtain"
even has paul newman in it.. but it's not that great

rope - one of my favorites great one as well - 'inspired' by a true story I believe
lifeboat caught this one - excellent
family plots hmmm, got to check out, it gets slammed some by the reviews
frenzy this will be next on the queu -after "The Wrong Man"

I'm one of the few that enjoys Torn Curtain. And I think Julie Andrews looks incredible in it!

Yeah, it's hard to really know anymore if any Hitchcock films are lesser-known. Virtually everything is in print. If you haven't seen any from this list I'd check them out. I'd say they're just a notch under Vertigo, Rear Window, North By Northwest, Psycho and Notorious as far as being well known so you may have already seen them.

the only good thing about "the wrong man" is henry fonda..
that one is pretty sub-par as well..
"rebecca" is great.. one of his best if you ask me.. and it's not very well known
"suspicion" with cary grant is great
i'm also a huge fan of "jamaica inn".. but it's old and the dvd i have is of terrible quality
HUD - 1963 movie in which Paul Newman plays the main character - guy named Hud Bannon, a young bad-ass. A modern day western. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Stylistic black and white film. Great acting. Newman and the guy who plays his father are just great. Its, a somber story, doesn't turn out happy the way you'd like - which was probably pretty unique for the day
The Bank Job - a recent film based on true story of Baker St bank robbery in London. entertaining. I like "true story" movies, but had a sense this one took great liberties with the "based-on" aspects. The british govt was involved with the heist - so its hard to tell how heroic and savvy the robbers really were, versus assisted by the govt -mainly at the end -I had some trouble buying into the ending. No bonus features with the DVD to elaborate on the actual history.
In honor of our high schools cross country teams success this past weekend - girls 1st for the second year in a row and boys 3rd in state, we watched Chariots of Fire last night. (PaintItRed ran on the Fresh/Soph team this year and we went down to Peoria to cheer the team on).

Hud is a fantastic movie.. one of my favorite newman flicks.. reminded me of "last picture show"
and "the misfits"..
oh.. i watched "the happening".. more like "the Crappening".. what a piece of terribleness..
bad acting, dumb story, terrible dialogue, and i have really liked M. Night's movies...
but wow... this was a bad bad movie.
i did enjoy "the strangers" though.. nothing original.. but i thought it was pretty decent..

Yes, that movie sucked REALLY bad. I saw it over the weekend.
Watched the latest Indiana Jones as well. That one wasn't all that great either. Some ok parts but nothing special at all. If I wouldn't have watched it on blu-ray it probably would've been worse but it looked really good in high-def.
