It'd be pretty sad if we had a 1300+ post troll. But then again, it wouldn't exactly surprise me.
just seems that this post plus the rant is a little over the top. Feels intentional to me, but I could be wrong.

Wow, unbelievable. Just saw that rant for the first time.
This pretty much confirms suspicions I've had for a long time.

There are, Westbrook is just the groundballing variety and thus a good fit, and has generally pitched a little better than his ERA instead of a little worse so he should be cheap.

Didn't he admit to being Whiteyball, who was either the most persistent troll in internet history or someone even the Faction simpletons would roll their eyes at?

BTW, Roy Oswalt and $11 million for J.A. Happ (A below-average starter by fielding-independent stats) who is recovering from a sore arm by getting smacked around by AAA hitters, a semi-prospect shortstop in A ball, and a future Michael Bourn (Also in A ball).
Clearly this was comparable to Shelby Miller and a couple more prospects for Oswalt and $0.

I've felt like the team was cheap in the past, but they definitely aren't now. There was a time when the thought of a serious pursuit for an Oswalt type player who made that kind of money would have been laughable.

Yeah, not exactly a big price to pay for Oswalt. That's why I just think it largely came down to Wade not wanting to trade him to a rival.

It may already have been posted, but Oswalt has approved the trade.

I'm guessing our offer was something comparable. Schumaker, a RH reliever, and an A-baller for Oswalt and a few million bucks. Wade was willing to pay maybe $8 million more to not give Oswalt to St. Louis and to take Happ, who he can sell to casual fans as a frontline starter.

Can we be sure that the Cardinals ever actually put such an offer on the table?
