and if im not mistaken the Cards face him next Saturday in Chicago(that should be sweet to watch), and then the following Friday back here in St. Louis(cant wait to hear the reaction he gets from the fans in Busch)

OK, I should've listened to my mom when she scolded me once by telling me, "Everyone has a mother." Here's the proof:

"Hello Adam:

1. I'm a diehard Cubs fan who's only updates on gamedays will be from your blog. I greatly appreciate it (no matter how the Cubbies are playing!).

2. I'm also the mother of the "pinhead Ritalin candidate"! My son went to the game today. (If I'm a diehard fan--he's a psycho fan!) When I read about the overly enthusiastic fan behind homeplate on your blog, I text-messaged his phone and said "Is that you yelling behind the plate?" He answered "You know it! How are you watching the game?" I said, "I'm your mother, I have spies everywhere..." Thanks for giving me the best laugh I've had all day...."

Now I feel really bad. Though, I wonder what she's been feeding him. What are the odds?

Now that's funny.... she must be proud. Well, apparently she is!

If it's true that is fantastic news. I'll be there 4/21 to witness the carnage. Does AP take him deep 3 or 4 times?

That's freakin hilarious...the whole game I wished I was at Wrigley so I could punch the dude in the face...I'm shocked he didn't get kicked out by people around him complaining..he was annoying to watch on TELEVISION..can't imagine what he woulda been like in person

A real nail-biter in Boston, Timlin gives up a couple runs in the 9th for a final of 14-3.

Drew taken out of the blowout early as a precautionary measure, presumably protecting him from stubbing his toe or getting a hangnail.

edit: just noticed this from the game notes

SEATTLE RIGHT FIELDER JOSE GUILLEN WAS EJECTED BY HOME PLATE UMPIRE PHIL CUZZI IN THE TOP OF THE EIGHTH INNING FOR CHARGING THE MOUND.
BOSTON MANAGER TERRY FRANCONA AND PITCHER BRENDAN DONNELLY WERE EJECTED BY HOME PLATE UMPIRE PHIL CUZZI IN THE TOP OF THE EIGHTH INNING AFTER DONNELLY HIT SEATTLE CATCHER KENJI JOHJIMA WITH A PITCH.

Any word on whether JD made it out of this alive?

I believe Drew was taken out because he's very brittle, and the score was about 12-0 at the time. Nothing has happened to him...yet.
Any word on whether JD made it out of this alive?
