I think the deal sucks, but I didn't want Westbrook to begin with (I know some of you did).

But I do think that some of you are overvaluing Ludwick.

This is the way I look at it:

We traded Ludwick for a non-prospect and Jake Westbrook. Ludwick is better than Westbrook, and also has an extra year of team control.

I guess you can argue that we traded from our "surplus" of outfielders to fill a need in the rotation, but from a pure value standpoint, we definitely lost this trade.

Wow, I truly hate this deal. I didn't want Westbrook in the first place. To give up Ludwick for him is just depressing. I can't imagine they're going to just wing it with this offense now, but after seeing this deal, who knows?
